Two women. Two journeys. One shared belief—that children are capable of far more than we often imagine.

I am often asked about the story behind Brainologi.

The answer has evolved over the years.

We simplify mathematics and grammar for children, but when it comes to ideas like money, logic, failure, decision-making, or how the world works, society does not seem to have the right vocabulary.

This gap became the foundation of Brainologi.

But then a conversation inspired how I saw our role.

At one of our early events, I met a mother who spoke about her young son, who was left-handed. To my shock, she was distressed because she had spent months, at times harshly, trying to make him write with his right hand. She wasn't uncaring. She was doing what she believed was required of her child to fit into the world.

That moment has stayed with me forever.

I realised that helping children understand the world was only half the equation.
The other half was ensuring that the world understood children.

That insight expanded Brainologi's vision.

Our books continue to be written for children because they are, and always will be, at the heart of everything we create. We write stories that make big ideas feel accessible, engaging, and wonderfully possible for young minds.

But we also recognise that a child's journey is shaped by far more than the pages of a book.
It is shaped by conversations around the dinner table, by parents who are willing to learn alongside their children.

Our podcast exists because parents deserve thoughtful conversations. Stories by the Lake was born because stories become richer when families experience them together.

If Brainologi can inspire even one child to ask a bigger question, one parent to see their child differently, or one family to discover the joy of learning together, I will believe we are building something worthwhile.

There is a quote that has stayed with me throughout my journey as an educator:

"The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled."

Over the past three decades, I have come to appreciate just how profoundly true those words are.

Children are not waiting to be filled with information. They are born with an innate curiosity—a desire to ask questions, make connections, experiment, imagine, and understand the world around them. The role of education, I believe, is not to replace that curiosity with instruction, but to protect it, nurture it, and allow it to grow.

That belief has shaped every stage of my journey—as a teacher, curriculum designer, educator, mentor, and now, as Co-Founder of Brainologi.

Learning has never been, and should never be, confined to the classroom. It is a lifelong journey. Our responsibility is not merely to prepare children for examinations, but to ignite a love for learning that stays with them long after school has ended. When curiosity becomes a habit, learning becomes a way of life.

It was this shared belief that led to the creation of Brainologi.

Together, we set out to create books that respect children's intelligence. Stories that simplify complex ideas without oversimplifying thought. Books that encourage children to reason, question, and discover for themselves—because we believe young minds are capable of engaging with far more than we often imagine.

Yet, over the years, I have learned another equally important truth.

No child learns in isolation.

Parents, teachers, grandparents, caregivers, and the larger community all shape the way a child experiences learning. Lasting educational transformation happens when these adults come together with a shared purpose—to understand children, encourage their curiosity, and create environments where they feel safe to think, question, and grow.

That is the role Brainologi aspires to play.

More than a publishing house, we are building an ecosystem that supports every parent, every teacher, and every caregiver who is invested in the growth of a child. Our books may be written for children, but our larger purpose is to foster a culture where learning is celebrated, curiosity is protected, and childhood is deeply respected.

If every child can grow up believing that asking thoughtful questions is just as important as finding the right answers, I believe we will have contributed something meaningful.
